Luke Wiwatowski

Luke’s breakthrough year was in 2007 when he was selected in the World Championship team as reserve. Since then Wiwatowski has matured as a gymnast performing consistently and increasing the difficulty in each of his routines.

Following his late inclusion into the 2010 Commonwealth Games team, Luke performed consistently as a member of the history making Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Team who won the gold medal as a team, and he also qualified for the High Bar final finishing in 7th place.

As one of the more experienced members of the men’s national squad, Luke is determined to improve the standing of Australia in Men’s Artistic Gymnastics.

Luke represented Australia at the 2013 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships following a strong performance at the Australian Championships where he took home the gold medal on High Bar and Floor.

In 2014, he again represented Australia at the World Championships, where he managed a best result of 97th in the Vault.

In the 2015 Australian Gymnastics Championship, Wiwatowski finished third in the All-Around competition, behind Naoya Tsukuhara and Victorian Luke Wadsworth.

After moving from Canberra to Queensland, to Victoria, Luke currently trains at the National Centre of Excellence in Canberra with coach Vladimir Vatkin.
