Janine Murray

Janine Murray started her gymnastics career at the age of six after following a friend into the Gymnastics Centre in Harare, Zimbabwe. It was there, in southern Africa, that she commenced training under coach Krasi Yurukova, and the journey began.

In 2002 both Janine and Krasi moved to Australia – Janine to Perth, and Krasi to Melbourne. Janine joined her local club – Northern District Gymnastics Club - and progressed through the Rhythmic Gymnastics levels program. Krasi coached at Carey Gym Club and then the Victorian RG High Performance Centre before moving to Perth, in 2005. Since then, Janine has trained with Krasi, and the two of them have been paving their way to the Olympic Games.
When Janine placed as the highest ranked Oceanic competitor at the RG World Championships in Montpellier in 2011, she secured one of only four wildcard entries to the Olympic Games.
Her most memorable sporting moments are the 2010 Commonwealth Games where the Australian Rhythmic Gymnastics Team won the gold medal and competing and the London 2012 Olympic Games.
