Gymnastics Australia Launches Child Friendly Codes of Behaviour

Gymnastics Australia has launched a series of Child-friendly Codes of Behaviour to assist younger members of the gymnastics community to further understand the rules everyone must follow in order to keep our sport safe.

The Child-friendly versions of the Codes of Behaviour have been created into videos, an easy-to-understand guide and a poster that clearly explain what is and what isn’t acceptable behaviour for those involved in the sport.

The resources feature a series of clear and succinct Do’s and Dont’s, along with simple graphics to further demonstrate and educate children on their rights.

They were developed to ensure all children involved in gymnastics have a clear understanding of what is acceptable, how to appropriately deal with any issue that may arise and how to seek assistance should it be required.

It is important that all members of the Australian gymnastics’ community are aware of the Child Safe Codes of Behaviour, where they can find them and who they apply to.

Gymnastics in Australia is committed to the safety, wellbeing, and empowerment of all children accessing our programs and services including indigenous children, those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and children and adults with disability.

Gymnastics Australia strives to provide a safe, fair and inclusive environment for everyone involved in our sport, whilst maintaining the upmost child safety practices.
