Join us for our Body Care Panel Discussion
In June this year, Gymnastics Australia released Body Care; a true and authentic athlete-centred approach against body dissatisfaction, disordered eating and eating disorders in gymnastics.
Developed in partnership with Butterfly Foundation, Body Care aims to equip our members with the language and understanding to foster an environment where every body is cared for, nourished and empowered to achieve their personal goals, without any limitations placed on their body.
To begin our educational journey towards a body care culture in gymnastics in Australia , Gymnastics Australia invites you to join us for an important Body Care Panel Discussion during the 2022 National Clubs Carnival on Sunday 25 September at 3:00pm.
Hear from industry professionals who were involved in the development of Body Care, as they talk about topics such as body dissatisfaction in sport, and how dieting and unhealthy eating and exercise behaviours have the potential to escalate beyond disordered eating to diagnosed eating disorders.
Panelists include:
Alexandra Eade - former elite athlete and Chair of Gymnastics Australia’s Youth Advisory Panel
Tracey Menzies – Gymnastics Australia’s Wellbeing and Engagement Manager
Nikki Jeacocke – Senior Sports Dietitian, Australian Institute of Sport
Ashleigh Olive – Sport and Exercise Psychologist
Danielle Rowlands – National Manager of Prevention Services, Butterfly Foundation
