Parkour for More with the VicHealth Jumpstart! Initiative Grant

Gymnastics Victoria has been named as a grant recipient under the Victorian Government VicHealth Jumpstart! program.

Awarded in order to fund a new initiative theGymnastics Victoria Social Parkour Project, this grant will further support Gymnastics Victoria to encourage young Victorians to engage with both the entertaining and developmental aspects that gymnastics has to offer.

This new project will aim to create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive opportunity for children and young people living in low socioeconomic areas, assisting them to become more physically active through participation in Parkour classes.

“We’re thrilled with the opportunities this grant can provide and very thankful to VicHealth for the chance to deliver such a program,” said Gymnastics Victoria CEO, Robin O’Neill.

“We’ve seen how popular recreational gym programs like Ninja can be amongst the community and hope to encourage all young people to get involved.

“Through this initiative, we hope to increase access to gymnastics and make it easier for those who might be inspired by Ninja, to now give gymnastics a go.”

More information, including the program's release, will be announced in due course.

The VicHealth Jumpstart! program is delivering funding to 123 organisations, driving community-led initiatives around active play, food, and art across Victoria.
